What is Stuff-a-Bus?
Stuff A Bus is a Kiwanis winter clothing drive geared mostly toward the children of the Gallatin Valley. The money donated will be used to buy new shoes, snow boots and any other items not donated by the community.
Last year was the first year of Stuff-a-Bus. As the first year there weren’t any of the facts and figures about just what it would mean to the community. This year we have some numbers for you…
Did you know we have 65 homeless children in the Bozeman High School? There are 25 in Belgrade High. Did you know 10% of the Gallatin Valley lives below poverty level?
Last year Stuff-a-Bus provided over 2000 coats, over 300 pairs of shoes and over 100 pairs of snow boots, uncountable numbers of snow pants, hats and gloves. There were requests for pants, shirts and underclothes.
There were over 150 families , over 600 people, who received clothing from Stuff-a-Bus last year. In many cases what people got went beyond a warm coat. There were families that didn’t know about resources available in the community or simply didn’t have someone to listen to their story.
